NextGen Competition Applauds Creation of Monopoly Busters Caucus

Apr 10, 2025

Nine founding members including Representatives Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Pat Ryan (NY-18), and Angie Craig (MN-02) launched the Monopoly Busters Caucus on Wednesday, a new caucus tasked with “fighting corporate greed and promoting a pro-worker, pro-consumer, and pro-small business economic agenda.”

The following statement can be attributed to Sumit Sharma, Executive Director for NextGen Competition (nextgencomp.tech):

“We’ve long urged Congress to take a more active role in promoting robust competition and curbing harmful business practices. The creation of a ‘Monopoly Busters’ caucus is a critical first step in this process, and we commend Representatives Pramila Jayapal, Chris Deluzio, Pat Ryan, and Angie Craig for their proactive leadership.

Assembling champions in Congress like Representatives Becca Balint, Greg Casar, Maggie Goodlander, Jerrold Nadler, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jan Schakowsky, and others who are willing to challenge tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft will be a key asset in ensuring effective and efficient antitrust enforcement. We look forward to tracking the caucus’s progress and supporting its efforts.”
